Ammonite Phylloptychoceras horitai
Phylloptychoceras horitai is an ammonite that was presentated as a new species by Dr. Yasunari Shigeta (National Museum of Nature and Science) in 2013. It is the first ammonite of the genus Phylloptychoceras to be identified in Japan and the northwestern Pacific region. This discovery revealed that the genus Phylloptychoceras originated in the North Pacific region. The scientific name was given to town resident Yoshiyuki Horita who collected the specimens and donated them to Hobetsu Museum.

필로프티코케라스 호리타이(Phylloptychoceras horitai)는 2013년에 시게타 야스나리 연구 주간(重田康成, 국립과학박물관) 등에 의해 신종으로 발표된 암모나이트이다. 일본 및 북서태평양 지역에서 처음으로 확인된 필로프티코케라스속의 암모나이트이다. 이 발견으로 인해 필로프티코케라스속의 기원이 북태평양 지역이라는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 학명은 표본을 채집해 호베쓰 박물관에 기증한 호리타 요시유키(堀田良幸, 무카와초 거주)씨에게 헌명하였다.
アンモナイト フィロプチコセラス・ホリタイ (Phylloptychoceras horitai)
フィロプチコセラス・ホリタイ（Phylloptychoceras horitai）は、2013年に重田康成研究主幹（国立科学博物館）らよって新種として発表されたアンモナイト。日本および北西太平洋地域で初めて確認されたフィロプチコセラス属のアンモナイトである。この発見によって、フィロプチコセラス属の起源が北太平洋地域であることが明らかとなった。学名は、標本を採集し穂別博物館へ寄贈された、堀田良幸氏（町内在住）に献名した。
